Real financial data your agents can prove

Your LLM is brilliant at reasoning and unreliable at numbers. FinancialDataAPIs plugs SEC EDGAR and Financial Modeling Prep data into your agent through a single MCP server, so every figure it quotes is traceable to a filing. No hallucinations. No hand-waving.

🔌 One MCP endpoint📑 SEC-sourced citations🧰 22+ tools🆓 1,000 calls/month free

The problem

LLMs are fluent. Financial numbers are not.

Ask a model for AAPL's latest revenue and it may confidently invent a figure, blend two quarters, or “forget” the source. For a chatbot that's an embarrassment — for financial work it's a liability.

❌ Let the LLM hallucinate

  • Plausible-sounding numbers with no origin.
  • Quarters and fiscal years mixed up.
  • No way to verify the claim.
  • Silent failure — it looks right and isn't.

✅ Source it with FinancialDataAPIs

  • Deterministic tool calls return real, ingested rows.
  • Every number carries its form, filing_date, and fiscal_year.
  • The agent can quote the exact SEC filing.
  • Stale vendor data is flagged, never silent.

The fix

Every number carries its source

Each response includes a data_source — SEC EDGAR for free tools, Financial Modeling Prep for vendor tools. Free-tool rows carry citation fields (form, filing_date, period, fiscal_year, filed_as_reported), and vendor rows flag stale data. Your agent can answer a question and tell you exactly where the number came from.

Ask your agent:

“What was AAPL's latest annual revenue, and cite the SEC filing it came from?”

It answers with the source, not a guess:

AAPL's latest annual revenue is $383,285,000,000, reported on the 10-K filed 2025-10-31 for fiscal year 2025 (period 2025-09-30).
