• Account information: name, email address, and hashed password provided during registration.
• Usage data: API request counts, endpoint names, timestamps, and response status codes for billing and rate limiting.
• Payment information: processed by Stripe; we do not store full credit card numbers.
• Technical data: IP addresses and user-agent strings for rate limiting and abuse prevention.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use collected information to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
• Enforce rate limits and usage quotas
• Process billing and payments
• Detect and prevent fraud or abuse
• Communicate service updates and changes

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with:

• Service providers: Stripe (payments), hosting providers, and monitoring services.
• Legal obligations: when required by law or to protect our rights.

4. Data Retention

Account data is retained while your account is active. API usage logs are retained for billing purposes and automatically purged after 90 days. You may request data deletion by contacting us.

5. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including TLS encryption for all API traffic and bcrypt hashing for passwords. API keys are stored in hashed form and cannot be retrieved after creation.

6. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication (JWT stored in an HTTP-only cookie) and for CSRF protection. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.

7. Your Rights

You may access, update, or delete your account data at any time through your dashboard. For data portability or deletion requests, contact support@financedata.com.
