Acceptable Use Policy
1. Purpose
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) outlines the rules for using FinancialDataAPIs APIs and services. By using the Service, you agree to comply with this policy.
2. Prohibited Activities
You may not:
- Exceed rate limits: Each plan has defined per-minute rate limits and monthly request quotas. Attempting to circumvent these limits is prohibited.
- Share API keys: API keys are issued per individual or organization. Sharing keys across unrelated users or publicly exposing keys is prohibited.
- Resell or redistribute: Raw data, signal outputs, or backtest results may not be resold or redistributed as a competing service without a written enterprise agreement.
- Automated scraping: Using automated tools to scrape or crawl the Service outside of the published API endpoints is prohibited.
- Illegal activity: Using the Service for fraud, money laundering, market manipulation, or any other unlawful purpose.
- Harmful content: Submitting malicious payloads, attempting SQL injection, or otherwise attacking the Service infrastructure.
- Impersonation: Creating accounts using false identities or impersonating others.
3. Rate Limiting
All API endpoints are rate-limited per API key. Exceeding rate limits will result in 429 Too Many Requests responses. Persistent rate-limit violations may result in temporary or permanent suspension.
4. Data Usage
Signal outputs and backtest results generated through the Service may be used in your own applications, dashboards, and analyses. Attribution is appreciated but not required. You may cache API responses for performance but may not build a competing data service.
5. Enforcement
Violations of this AUP may result in:
- Warning notices
- Temporary rate-limit reductions
- Suspension of API access
- Permanent account termination
We reserve the right to take any action we deem necessary to protect the Service and its users.
